How late does the water taxi to Put-in-Bay run?
The Sonny S operates until the end of September , every hour for the 10-minute trip between Middle Bass and Put-in-Bay. It starts the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. On Fridays the last trip back to Middle Bass is around midnight, and on Saturday the last trip back is around 1:00 AM. Weekdays the last trip back is at 7:00 PM. Our shuttle van stops coincide with the water taxi's to bring you back to St. Hazards. The charge is $2 per person (kids are free). It is also about a 15-minute walk back to our resort from the dock.
Do you have a marina?
Our marina is not yet built. The State of Ohio park is next door and they have a marina for 50 boats. Rates are about $25 per day. Reservations for slips are available by calling 419-285-0311. In the off-season, call 419-797-4530. It’s about a 15-minute walk to our place or you can take our shuttle van.

What is there for kids to do?
Middle Bass is a quiet island, perfect for exploring. There is a nature preserve with a large pond about a mile away that is good for fishing. If you want, you can rent our golf carts to tour the island. St. Hazards has a pool and some play equipment. Visits to Put-in-Bay are very popular with kids. Seeing caves, playing miniature golf, exploring on golf carts, going to the top of the monument and using the play areas are all popular with kids. The boat ride over to Put-in-Bay is also a fun trip.
How far is Cedar Point?
Cedar Point is about 30 minutes away from the mainland ferry dock.
What is the best way to get to Middle Bass Island?
There are no bridges, so you need to come by boat, ferry or plane. The Miller Boat Line travels many times a day directly from the mainland to Middle Bass. They are located at the end of Route 53 North, which is off of Route 2. The trip is about 40 minutes long and is very scenic as you pass Put-in-Bay. Reservations for passengers are not required, but they are required for cars and RV’s. They can take anything up to a semi-truck in size. Reservations for vehicles are taken up to two weeks in advance. They often sell out for vehicles on weekends; although there is always plenty of room for walk-on passengers. Call them at 800-500-2421. You can also take the Miller or Jet Express to Put-in-Bay and then the Sonny S. to Middle Bass. Griffing Airways flies from Sandusky to the new airport on Middle Bass every day.
Do I need a car on Middle Bass?
No. Getting around by bike or our shuttle van is very easy. The ferry dock is about a 15-minute walk away. Our van is $2 each way and kids are free.
Is St. Hazards a family resort?
We welcome all. Weekdays are more quiet and we have many visitors with kids. Weekends we mostly have visitors in their 20’s to 40’s, but we also have families with kids. After 10 PM on weekends, Hazards Microbrewery is for adults only (21 & Up). We have been open for 7 years and have found that all age groups visiting have fun at our resort. Good weather helps!
How late is Hazards open?
Hazards is open until 2:30 AM Friday and Saturday and usually closes earlier on other days.
Do you have a store at St. Hazards?
Yes. We have a store that sells basic items such as beer, pop, water, chips, ice, candy, etc. We also have unique tropical items we import directly that you will not see elsewhere. About ¼ mile away is a larger grocery store with any other items you need.
Is your restaurant expensive?
No. We have average prices with most dinner items ranging from $7 to $13. The atmosphere is very informal, and scenic seating is available inside and out.
Do you have an ATM?
Yes. It’s in the restaurant.
Do you sell gas?
Yes.
